airBaltic – Budget Airline Guide

airBaltic is Latvia’s state-owned budget airline. It is based in Latvia’s capital, Riga, with the main base of operations at the Riga International Airport. airBaltic was formed as a joint venture between Scandinavian Airlines and the government of Latvia. Flights were launched on the first of October 1995. Operations has since expanded to other major cities in Europe, with airBaltic having offices in Vilnius, Minsk, Moscow, Kiev, Berlin, London, Odessa, Daugavpils and St. Petersburg. Since 2007, airBaltic has accepted bookings through the internet.

Being a joint venture with Scandinavian airlines, it shares hubs with SAS in the Swedish and Danish cities of Stockholm and Copenhagen.
