Located in Baras Catanduanes, Puraran Beach is famous for its surf break called “The Majestics.”
The beach cove with long barrel waves perfect was said to be discovered as a surfing destination in the 1970s by Aussie Peter Sutton.
August to October is when international surfers from Japan and Australia descend and resorts are fully booked, so if you’re not a surfer it is best to come to Puraran during the dry months of March to May.
Puraran can be reached by a plane from Manila to Virac. From Virac take an hour and a half long jeepney ride from to Baras. And then from Baras take a ticycle ride to Puraran beach.
The two resorts in the beach are Puting Baybay and Majestics. Both offer the same rates.
