Genealogy is a term that a lot of us have heard, but not many of us know all that much about. When we hear “genealogy” thoughts of family trees, and history looms in the air, but the truth is, most of us haven’t the foggiest idea to start to compile our family tree.

Genealogy is defined as; the ability to seek and discover the origins of ones family tree, lineage, or cultural heritage. This is generally done with birth records, and/or other documents.

There, now that we know what genealogy means, I want to show you a top resource to help you to dive deeper into your Irish ancestry than you ever would have imagined. First, let me tell you about myself, and how I found myself writing a book about genealogy for all of you.

When I was around 19, my boyfriend asked me about my family ancestry. He was a proud Italian, and when I told him that I wasn’t quite sure where my family was from, I got the most confused of looks from him. I didn’t know exactly where my family was from, and I assumed this to be quite normal. Although it probably was, I still enlisted the help of family to try to answer the question. My parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins weren’t much help in this one, so I had to find the answer on my own. How? By learning all I could about genealogy.

It Took Over A Year, But I Finally Compiled A Family Tree Dating Back To The Late 1700’s!

In the year I was studying my family tree, I also became quite the expert on genealogy. I learned not only how to compile a family tree, but also the importance of knowing where you came from.

If I asked you the difference between a given name, and a family name, could you tell me the difference in the two? Probably not.

I’m here to change that, and  that’s why I created the Irish Genealogical website. I want to make you an expert on finding information, and determining just how accurate that information is. It’s not as easy as you might assume, but there are shortcuts, and that’s what you are going to learn from this site.

Whether you are a beginner, or you’ve been compiling a family tree for a decade or more, I’ve got information that will suit your experience level.

Irish Genealogical was designed with the beginner in mind, and it’s incredibly simple to just pick up and go from day one. That said, the expert is going to learn more than a few tips, and become an even better genealogist! I guarantee it.

This is just a taste of what you’ll find in my easy-to-follow ebook. I don’t want to give away too much before you ever open the book, but this should give you a good example of what’s inside.

After my initial introduction into genealogy, I just couldn’t get enough. I studied non-stop for over a year while compiling my Irish family tree, and I’m proud to say that I did a pretty good job. It’s not complete, of course, but it’s looking much more respectable than when I started.
