Diet composition and weight control

Reducing overall fat intake will produce a weight loss in overweight subjects dependant on the amount and quality of the carbohydrate in the diet. The less energy dense carbohydrates produce greater satiety than fat, calorie for calorie.

This, of course, is all thrown out the window if the carbohydrate consumed is sugar. Carbohydrates to emphasize are: vegetables, fruits, legumes.
