Exercise equipment that allows weight bearing exercise involving both the arms and legs may be the best choice for obese individuals. Using an elliptical trainer allows you to burn more calories than a stationary bike at the same perceived intensity.
Treadmills (weight bearing, but no arm action) and airdyne cycles (arm action but not weight bearing) produced better results than the stationary bike, but failed to match the elliptical trainer.
Exercise intensity can be measured in many different ways (oxygen uptake, heart rate, perceived, lactate etc.), but for most people perceived intensity provides an easy and reasonably accurate method of establishing the correct intensity.

It just depend on one’s comfort to use elliptical or stationary bike. Each equipment bring its own advantages to increasing body and cardio fitness
I don’t mind about the comparison between treadmill and elliptical equipment. It depends on each person who uses and how they get effects on their bodies. Let’s keep in good health, because it’s the most important thing.
I agree with Total Gym. The issue I also have with treadmills is that they are not as realistic a running experience as running on actual ground. Find a gym or mall to run in the winter and outside in the summer for a better workout.
I agree. Elliptical machines are better than these two. Personally, I don’t like treadmills. Not just that it only concentrate on your legs, giving benefits only to your lower body. But, it also absorbs all the shock whenever you recoil your middle leg extremities. I am obese and have tried elliptical machine, though it gives you great workout, sometimes, i am not really secure of the resistance the machine gives me. I have tried different machines, till i found Vigorfit. It has 440 lbs. resistance that surely will last, and can perform pilates, cardio at the same time, giving you great body workout with ease and comfort. So before purchasing any machines, think. Does it give you comfort? Is it guaranteed to give you great, extensive workout without shedding big amount of money? Thinking twice is better than spending 1000 grand without anything in return.
