Obesity phenotype is retained after weight loss

Obese subjects were put on a low calorie, liquid diet to reduce 50% of their obesity. Those with lower body fat distribution (pears) reduced their visceral fat to a normal level. Those with upper body fat distribution (apples) reduced their visceral fat… but not enough to normalize their cardiovascular risk factors.

Even though many things were corrected by weight loss, should the subjects regain the weight they will distribute it in the same areas as previously.
