Self-regulation skills and weight loss maintenance

Many successful dieters fail to maintain their initial weight loss. This study examined the effectiveness of a self regulation program that was delivered either face to face or over the internet.

All groups regained weight. The group that received the face to face training regained about half of the weight the other groups regained. The group that received the training over the internet achieved slightly better results than the control group.
