How to Become and eBay Seller

How do you become an ebay seller?

Well its rather simple but one of the first things you have to do is decide what you are selling. Some things just don’t sell well on eBay or are against eBay’s rules and some items are simply illegal.

For guides on all of the Top eBay secrets take a look at “The Top eBay Selling Guides” review.

The first step in becoming an eBay seller is to setup an eBay account.

Just go to your local country’s eBay site and if you have already setup a buyers account then setting up a sellers account is only a few more clicks.

I advise you get your feedback over say 20 before you start listing items to sell on eBay. This gives your potential customers more confidence in your listings and keeping a 100% feedback is essential to getting a good selling price.

Research will make you the Money!

Before you list any items on eBay you will want to do a little research into the product you are listing. As mentioned above, some items just don’t sell well on eBay and as a general rule, if you can post it… you can sell it on eBay!

Anything above 15 Kgs or larger than your local post office’s accepted size is asking for postage troubles. That’s usually a large box (Say 50cm x 50cm x 80cm)
Initially you may just want to sell 1 or 2 items or you may have hundreds of items to sell on eBay.

Selling things around the house is a great way to build you first feedback numbers along with learning the ropes of eBay’s auction system.

Setting up a Paypal account and is getting your account “verified” is essential to creating a strong eBay selling account. Getting a verified Paypal account is rather easy, all you have to do is provide bank account details and further contact details.

When you list your items on eBay you will want to offer Paypal as a payment method for your customers as once again this will give them a heap more confidence in your listings and perceived reputation.

Last but not least is honesty. If there is something wrong with the item you are listing, say so in the listing. This includes scratches, marks or something that may be a little twitchy with the item.

This honesty you provide in the listing will give you more points as a reputable seller. Selling new items is a different story and you most definitely want to include a 30 Day money back guarantee and a 12 month warranty.

There are plenty of little tweaks you can make to your listings that will increase buyer interest and one of the most over looked improvements is in the copy. i.e. how you write your Ads.

These copy writing tips are covered in all of the “Top How to Sell on eBay Guides” found here on the review page. I would recommend reading at least one of these guides as it will open your eyes to tips and tricks you most likely never thought of.
